Pit lane speed limit
Pit lane entry and exit lines are defined on the circuit map. Every vehicle’s speed is monitored and logged inside the pit lane, and race control is instantly alerted to any infringement.
Safe2Race units are installed in each competition vehicle. They update race control with live tracking information over a radio link, so race control or AI can flag any vehicle approaching a problem vehicle, scenario or sector.

Flags can be generated by artificial intelligence or by race control, and race control can alter or cancel any flag condition. Every update is displayed instantly on the in-vehicle hardware, and race control displays verify each flag and where it applies.

Vehicle tracking lets race control view the location of any competitor or service vehicle fitted with Safe2Race. Advanced algorithms detect an impact, a change of direction or a sudden drop in speed, and alert race control with the vehicle, incident type, location and timing.
Tracking and timing deliver automated penalty and limit enforcement, offering an impartiality not currently seen in racing.
Pit lane entry and exit lines are defined on the circuit map. Every vehicle’s speed is monitored and logged inside the pit lane, and race control is instantly alerted to any infringement.
Virtual penalty boxes can be geofenced anywhere within the circuit. When race control applies a penalty, such as a 10 second stop/go, the vehicle is marked until it has been served within the set number of laps and time.
Once race control opens the pit window, any vehicle that doesn’t stay within the pit lane for the minimum stop time is marked, with a log of the infringement.
Race control can apply a drive through. The system reports whether it was completed, and that it was served under the pit lane speed limit.
Highly accurate race data is logged for use after the race, so data relating to accidents, incidents or breaches can be corroborated and analysed.

Safe2Race communicates directly between every vehicle, giving officials instant real-time information and automating warnings to competitors about any incident.
A competitor stops or has an impact within the pre-defined hot zone.
Safe2Race detects it and automatically shows a yellow flag on the dash of any competitor within a set time or distance behind.
Once a competitor has passed the slowed vehicle, a green flag is displayed automatically, as long as there are no other obstructions in range.
Safe2Race is designed to be automated, but it is an addition to existing safety personnel: an advisory system rather than a control system. Race control can override any warning or alert.

Why Safe2Race was developed and the key functionality it brings to every circuit.

Safer racing for competitors, and better information for circuits and championships.

In-vehicle units and display options, stand-alone or integrated with existing AiM dashes.

The race control interface: a clear, live view of the circuit and every vehicle on it.

We work with circuits, championships and organisations to meet their safety objectives.
