System hardware

Safe2Race hardware has been developed to integrate with a number of display options, for use across different sports and vehicles. Use it within existing motorsport displays, or as a stand-alone display unit.

Transmits to race control and other vehicles, and logs every second of data.

The Safe2Race unit

The unit transmits radio messages to race control and to other competition and support vehicles, so safety information is processed in real time.

As well as reporting to race control, it keeps internal logs of second-by-second data, including time, location, speed, bearing, g-forces, safety status and communication logs. The logs are recoverable via USB for accident analysis, penalty judgement and investigation.

Display options

The dedicated system design can transmit and receive CAN information, so we can offer several simple ways to show warnings to the driver, rider or pilot. Choose the one that matches your category of motorsport, or mix and match them if your regulations allow.

LED bar showing Safe2Race flags

LED bar

The remote LED bar transmits the basic flags very simply: yellow, yellow flashing, red, blue, green, mechanical and finish. Four small buttons at the base allow confirmation to race control, and it can be programmed to suit the needs of each race series.

OLED display

The small OLED display shows all flags and messages on a 60 × 50 mm screen, with two buttons for confirmation to race control. It can be programmed for each race series, for example with messages such as “SOS”.

CAN output showing Safe2Race flags

CAN output

A CAN link to an OLED logger or display shows all flags and messages on a much larger scale, plus dedicated messages from race control. New or existing AiM hardware can be used to implement the system.

Dash LED

The LED bar on a logger or dash display shows the basic flags with simplicity: yellow, yellow flashing, red, blue, green, mechanical and finish. It uses new or existing AiM hardware.
